Abstract (EN)
Thanks to rapid technological changes and the emerging new technologies, people will be able to carry out their transactions faster and more reliably in the world. The evolving technology also affects many sectors, with banking being at the forefront. Especially with the advancement of technology, it reduces the increasing costs in the financial sense and contributes to the country's economy. Due to the increasing variety of financial products in the financial sector and the online execution of many transactions, the level of individuals' financial literacy has become even more important. In addition, fintech companies have emerged. Fintech actively operates in the Turkish fintech ecosystem. When we examine banking specifically, individuals now have many possibilities through mobile banking, which customers actively use. They can perform all collection transactions, open accounts remotely, request loans, and monitor their accounts in other banks through the same mobile banking platform. As a result, banks have started to provide services as advisors, moving away from traditional banking at this point. In our country, customers who receive services from banks prefer to receive face-to-face services from individuals who provide financial services. One of the important reasons for this is the low level of financial literacy, indicating that the education level for the healthy use of financial technology products is low. In this regard, banks should carefully examine customer needs with fintech products and establish effective communication not only through chatbots but also through direct interaction with individuals. For example, this can be achieved through their services by establishing quick communication. This study aims to explain the use of financial technology by private bank customers in Istanbul using the technology acceptance model and measure the impact of financial literacy in this model. The research found that financial literacy affects the behavior occurring in the technology acceptance model. In the sub-dimensions of financial literacy, it was found that contract text literacy and risk aversion affect the behavior occurring in the model. No significance was found in other sub-dimensions. When examining demographic factors by gender, it was found that women have higher levels of financial literacy compared to men. Based on the findings obtained from the research, recommendations have been made for increasing the use of financial technology products by bank customers.made to increase the use of financial technology products of bank customers.
