Özet (EN)

Phytonutrients are protective chemical components found in foods of plant origin and of natural origin, with fewer side effects compared to chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Phytonutrients are classified as phytosterols, terpenoids, polyphenols, organosulfur compounds, organic acids and amines. Food groups containing phytonutrients are classified as red, orange, yellow, green, blue/purple/black, white/brown. In this study, Trigonella foenum-graecum L. (fenugreek), Mentha x piperita L. (mint), Linum usitatissimum L. (flax), Rosa canina L. (rosehip), Cinnamomum verum J.S. Presl (cinnamon), Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze (green tea), Avena sativa L. (oat) were evaluated for phytotherapy. More studies are needed on food groups containing phytonutrients.
