Analyzing the policies affecting the trade of hazelnut with SWOT and AHS

Hazelnut, which is among agricultural products, has an important place in the export and import area for the world and Turkish economy. Hazelnut cultivation and trade is also a very important branch of activity for the Turkish economy. Turkey accounts for 75% of the world's hazelnut production and 80% of the world's hazelnut exports. In line with the data on hazelnut production and foreign trade, it has been determined that hazelnut production is very important for Turkey. In addition to being an export commodity, hazelnut offers a wide range to the economy with its many sub-branches. In this direction, Turkey's import-export ratios in the World Hazelnut Market were examined and its importance in the economy was tried to be emphasized. A SWOT matrix has been created as a result of the findings and interviews with experts in this field, provided that all stages of hazelnut exports for Turkey are examined. As a result of this matrix, weighting was performed with the help of Analytic Hierarchy Process analysis. According to the weighting results of the four strategies created in the SWOT matrix, the most appropriate strategy for Turkish hazelnut exports was tried to be determined. The most appropriate strategy for the Turkish hazelnut market is licensed warehousing. It has been determined that the increase in costs and loss of product and income will be significantly reduced with the expansion of licensed warehousing.
