Abstract (EN)
Photoactivation analysis (PAA) has many applications in various disciplines. For example, archeology is a method that is used in the sense of having knowledge about the ages of historical artifacts, examination of components of an element whose element concentration is unknown, and determining the elements of its content. In addition, photoactivation analysis, a method used in space sciences, has knowledge about the element structure of meteor and celestial stones. The reason for using this method in tooth samples is to allow detailed and sensitive element analysis. In XRD and XRF methods, which are one of the other element analysis methods, the chemical formula of the element is determined and the active element is found. In the photoactivation, the daughter core, the main core and the isotopes of the element can be reached. Photoactivation analysis is a preferred method because it is both qualitative and quantitative. The X-rays necessary to perform photoactivation are obtained from bremsstrahlung created by electrons produced by a 18 MeV clinical linear accelerator. If these X-rays are intended to be used, it is used to make the initially stable sample of the tooth unstable. the unstable tooth samples emit characteristic gamma rays as they become stable again. Gamma rays are measured with HPGe detectors. Trough the analysis the elements of the teeth samples are identified. The identification allows for observation of actual reactions. Reactions observed in this sample are (γ,n), (γ,p), (n,γ), (γ,p) and (γ, γ') isomeric transitions. As a result of analysis of the tooth sample: Cu, Fe, Ca, Ga, Cl, Zn, Sc, Na, Rb, K, Mn, Ni, Sr, Mg elements have been identified. From these, the elements in our sample were assigned.
