Abstract (EN)
Acetylcholine is an important neurotransmitter in the brain regions associated with memory. Alzheimer's disease is parallel to acetylcholine decreased memory impairment. Cholinergic agents that provide improvement in function may provide stabilization or improvement in cognitive function. However, this treatment does not stop the progression of the disease pathophysiology. The main drugs used for this purpose are acetylcholinesterase inhibitors. Galantamine is a cholinesterase inhibitor that began to be used in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. It is widely used for mild to moderately severe Alzheimer's dementia treatment. In this study, capillary electrophoresis method have been developed for detection of Galantamin from commercially available pharmaceutical dosage forms. The high value of recovery percentage of the results showed that the excipients had not influence of the method. All necessary validation parameters were studied in order to show the accuracy, sensitivity, feasibility and specificity of the developed method for galantamine.
