Immunohistochemical expression of erbb receptors and epidermal growth factor, amphiregulin and neuregulin distribution in bovine uterus during gestation

Abstract (EN)
This research was planned in order to determine the distribution of Neuregulin1 (NRG1), Amphiregulin (AREG), Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) and Epidermal Growth Factor Receptors in cow uterus during pregnancy period. 30 pregnant Holstein cattle uterus that obtained from local slaughterhouses in Diyarbakır were used in study. Ages of fetus were evaluated in order to determine the uterus? pregnancy period and for this reason the crown rump length of fetus was measured. In terms of this age assignation the uterus which belongs to the early, mid and late period of pregnancy were collected in groups with 10 uterus samples existing in each group. All uterus tissues taken from all groups were fixed in %10 neutral formaline solution for 24 hours and then blocked in paraplast after routine histological processing. For analysis of histological structure of placenta and uterus, a part of cross section was painted with Crossman?s triple and another part was painted with immunhistochemistry.Statistical analyses of data obtained from this study was performed by Kruskal Wallis and Mann-Whitney U test and the significant differences (p<0,05) among the terms of gestation was detected. When placentomal and interplacentomal regions for both uterus and placenta were considered, trophoblastic cells perpetuated their presence during the fixation of the parts that belongs to fetalis and maternalis. It is observed that in immunohistochemical staining which was obtained streptavidin-peroxidase method ErbB receptors and ligands of EGF, AREG and NRG1 were localized clearly on surface and gland epithelium cells but with different densities during pregnancy in cow uterus. The active role of ErbB receptors in design of endometrial functions and additionally the immunoreactivite demonstration of EGF, AREG and NRG1 in both maternal and fetal parts made the functional relationship to be understood during pregnancy period in EGF receptor and ligand connections.It?s thought that ErbB receptors and ligands of EGF, AREG and NRG1 were not only making proliferation and differentiation in cells during pregnancy but they were also playing an active role on cellular contact between embryo and uterus through placenta.
