Abstract (EN)

We live in a world today where religious conflicts are a threat to humanity. These conflicts are trigged due to lack proper study, analysis and wisdom in applying the teachings and fundamentals of religions. Religious extremism, ignorance and lack of tolerance are some of the factors that cause these conflicts. Muslims, whose religion İslâm preaches tolerance in its teachings are no way exempted from these religious conflicts. These conflicts we see today in the Islamic world are due to lack of proper understanding of the fundamental of İslâm and lack of inter-Islamic science education. The aim of this work is to tackle the spread of İslâm and the various mazdhabs and groups found in Ghana from the period of independent to date. Muslims in Ghana when compared to other countries in the African continent is blessed with a peaceful environment for religious practices. For this peaceful environment to be a long lasting legacy religious tolerance is a must. It is also hopeful that this work will serve as a source to be refered to by Turkish academicians.
