Stages of the understanding of aesthetic pleasure in Turkish Islamic literature from past to present

This study, structured by an Introduction, Three Chapters, and a Conclusion, has read and analyzed dozens of works. The aim is to understand the aesthetic criteria employed in the creation of existing words and texts, whether written or spoken, in a way that also provides clues about how civilizations were founded. A literature review on etymological origins was also conducted during this process. Therefore, by focusing on "Bedî'iyât" and "İlmü'l-cemâl," the concepts are explained, facilitating a better understanding of the thesis's purpose. Then, the subject will be explored through the foundational texts of Islam, addressing the essence of beautiful speech, or the aesthetics of speech. The main topic of the study will be the evolution of aesthetic pleasure, exploring its journey from past to present. The introduction will address aesthetics and aesthetic pleasure, exploring the mission of words. The philosophical and literary thought underlying these words will be outlined, laying the foundation for a background. After becoming familiar with the concept of aesthetics, the importance of aesthetic pleasure, particularly in the aesthetics of speech and in the construction of civilization, will be emphasized. The first section will address the concept of beauty in Islamic texts, its emphasis on this aspect, the reflection of spiritual experiences derived from beauty on individual and social life, and alternative words with equivalent usage. The second section will focus on aesthetic pleasure in Islamic literature, presenting examples from Islamic geography. The final section, the third section, will cover the evolution of aesthetic pleasure in Turkish-Islamic literature from the past to the present, focusing on the dominant understanding of each period.
