Abstract (EN)

Harput, located in the Eastern Anatolia Region, has been a city center with high charm throughout history it has been used as. Harput has lost its importance over time and is currently connected to Elazig, it has come to the neighborhood position. In this thesis study, traditional Harput from the past to the present the urban texture has been examined and the factors affecting this change have been investigated. Until today by examining the incoming houses and old photos; the plan, facade, material of traditional Harput houses and construction techniques have been studied. The plan, facade, window and door typologies of these houses it is prepared. The conservation status of the Harput houses that have survived to the present day has been examined and restoration evaluations have been studied. Restoration of houses whose restoration has been completed assessments have been made and damage detection reports have been prepared. In field work the structures built with the reconstruction technique were examined. Houses that are in ruins and ruined it has been examined, the determination minutes have been prepared. General reviews of these houses; protection problems, changes, comfort levels, structural problems have been studied. Harput's environment and single protection problems at the building scale have been examined and recommendations have been made. At the scale of a single structure, physical and functional suggestions have been introduced to the structures. Harput is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2018 ıt has been added to the Tentative List. The traditional Harput houses that have survived to this day, Harput's ıt will play a major role in its addition to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
