Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of plyometric training applied according to the Tabata protocol on selected motoric characteristics in young women aged 18-22 who regularly train. 21 young female athletes voluntarily participated in the study, who regularly train 6 days a week to prepare for the special talent exams. According to the random sampling method after their demographic information and pre-test results, the participants were divided into two groups, 11 experimental and 10 control groups. The experimental group participated in plyometric training applied according to Tabata protocol in addition to normal training 3 days a week for 8 weeks. Flexibility, anaerobic power, aerobic endurance, speed, and agility measurements of the participants were carried out in the form of pre-test and post-test at 8-week intervals. SPSS 20.0 package program was used in the statistical analysis of the study. Before data analysis, it was tested whether the data were normally distributed. For normally distributed data, Independent Samples-T Test was applied to test the significance of the difference between the Experimental and Control group performance tests pretest and posttest scores. Paired Samples-T Test was used to test the significance between the pretest and posttest scores within the groups. Significance level was accepted as p<0.05. As a result, while statistically significant improvements were observed in all selected motoric features in the experimental group, no statistically significant improvement was found only in flexibility performance in the control group. In the comparison between the groups, it was seen that the improvement in sprint performance was in favor of the experimental group. Key Words: Motoric Features, Plyometric Training, Tabata Protocol.
