Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to investigate protectiveness of pollen against oxytetracycline in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). The fish were injected with a single dose of oxytetracycline at a dose of 60 mg / kg fish. 30 ppm pollen was simultaneously applied to oxytetracycline injected fish. The experiment lasted 96 hours and blood and tissue (liver, kidney, and gill) samples were taken from the fish at the end of this period. In blood and tissue samples, haematological (erythrocyte count, hemoglobin and hematocrit levels), immünological (leukocyte count, oxidative radical production (nitrobluetetrazolium-NBT activity), total protein and total immünoglobulin levels) and antioxidant (malondialdehyde level, glutathione peroxidase, glutathione peroxidase, -transferase activities and reduced glutathione level) parameters were analyzed. Hematological and immünological values of the oxytetracycline injected group were found to be statistically lower than the control group (p < 0.05). Hematological and immünological values were determined to be higher in the group that was applied pollen simultaneously with oxytetracycline when compared to the group treated with oxytetracycline alone (p < 0.05). Tissue malondialdehyde levels of the oxytetracycline injected group were observed to be statistically higher than the control group (p < 0.05). Tissue malondialdehyde levels were found to be lower in the group that was applied pollen simultaneously with oxytetracycline when compared to the group treated with oxytetracycline alone (p < 0.05). Tissue glutathione peroxidase, catalase and glutathione-S-transferase activities and reduced glutathione levels were found to be statistically lower in the oxytetracycline injected group compared to the control group (p < 0.05). Tissue glutathione peroxidase, catalase and glutathione-S-transferase activities and reduced glutathione levels were found to be higher in the group that was applied pollen simultaneously with oxytetracycline when compared to the group treated with oxytetracycline alone (p < 0.05).
