Abstract (EN)

Package is known as both an industrial product and a visual communication tool through which we set links with the individuals in terms of production techniques, design methods and the outcome meaning. Packages of men's cosmetics, which we handle in semiotic terms in this study, have gradually become a charming sector. Individuals who buy the product also have the package and they adopt these packages by feeling that they are at the position where they want to be. Therefore, it is of vital importance to know the behavior style of the consumer who is addressed for the utmost success. In design process of the packages, it is considered that indicators are a communication language and this language is used and designed in men's cosmetics. Individuals purchase and derive benefit from the products based on their own characteristics. This benefit leads to a re-purchasing of that product and so that the sector gradually gains a consumer-oriented structure in terms of marketing mentality. In the report, semiotic concepts have been analyzed in detail and also packaging date, benefits and basic functions of the packages, packing materials, usage targets, graphic elements, brand identity and brand values, marketing strategies and the importance of packages in the sector of men's cosmetics have been researched. Moreover; men's perfume set (perfume bottle, after shave balm, deodorant) and their packages have been designed within the scope of the project, and consumer analyses have been assessed through survey method in order to demonstrate the accuracy the data and information gathered. In the report which has been carried out trough survey method in accordance with data gathered from newly designed product, 82,72% of target eighty one people who are aged between 18 and 39 with a high level of income have stated that they can purchase the products as a gift or for themselves while 17,28% of them have stated that they will not want to use this product.
