Abstract (EN)
VI ABSTRACT Turkey has entered the Custom Union with EU on January 1, 1996. It's important for Turkey to put changes and effects of the Custom Union on Turkish economy especially on its foring trade. It is very normal to see that Custom Union has both trade creating and trade diverting effects. Before we analyze these effects, fırt we introduced general consepts in foreing trade. Then, we examined the changes occuped in industrialization policies between 1980 and 1995. After this date, Custom Union has been settled between Turkey and EU on January 1, 1996 and we analyzed the changes after the Union. Based on a econometric model, analyses have been carried out to look in what happened to Turkish foreing trade between 1980-1995 and 1996-2000.
