Evaluation of opportunity-equality of education in South-Eastern Anatolia region

This research has been done in order to evaluate the education in South-EasternAnatolia Region in respect of opportunity-equality.First, some instructions related to education and the steps that education processpasses through have been explained. Second, some factors causing opportunity-inequality in education have been explained. Social and economical factors that hinderthe opportunity equality such as economy, laboring children, the crowded members ofthe family, the sex discrimination in education and immigration have been focused onand the inequalities have been tried to be explained with support of maps.Next, this research has presented the educational imbalance, with tables, whichhinders the opportunity-equality in education of the South-Eastern Anatolia Region. Inthe tables first the rate of schooling for every grade of formal education between 1998-1999 years has been given. The inequalities in the region have been determined asprivate education, pre-school education, school/class, student, teacher elements in theprimary school education, secondary school education, girl- boy rates; high schooleducation, staff, united classes, disfunctioning village schools, normal or evening paidschool. In the table finally it has been determined whether the number of primaryschools, secondary schools, high schools, universities, teaching staff, and the libraries ofthe South-Eastern Anatolia Region has been developed on a par with the other regionsor not.As for the consequence and the evaluation part, the fortification of the theorieshas been tested considering the findings of the study.
