Abstract (EN)

The subject of this thesis is the Hurliḳa-Hemrah Epic in the Jarring Collection. The thesis is composed of three chapters. The introduction provides general information about the subject and purpose. The first chapter of the thesis covers the history of East Turkestan, Chagatai and New Uyghur, the Swedish missionaries who brought the Hurliḳa-Hemrah Epic and many other manuscripts to Sweden and their activities in East Turkestan, the Gunnar Jarring Collection of Lund University in Sweden, and the research on Turkologist Gunnar Jarring. In the second chapter, where information about the epic is presented, the spelling and linguistic features of the epic are shown, and the phonetic and morphological features of the epic are compared with the contemporary Uyghur language and its dialects. In the final chapter, the standard translation of the text is given. The plain and conjugated forms of the words in the text are shown in the index section, along with their semantic characteristics.
