Özet (EN)

Modernism, combining the world view based on reason and science with theinnovations of the industrial revolution, expresses a world view that unceasingly makesitself meaningful through the best rather than the conventional. The West, which hasmade the unindustrialized countries dependent on itself, has become the center of aglobalized economy and world view by devaluing the local and regional. Thedevelopment of modernism in art has been determined in line with a world view formedwith the Enlightenment and industrialization. Nevertheless, with the attitude ofmodernism ever seeking to reach for the future has come the loss of the meaning ofculture and history and individuals in the society have come to lose their culturalidentities. Moreover, the two big world wars and the genocides experienced in themean time undermined the belief in Modernism, which resulted in an environmentsuitable for a postmodernist mentality.Postmodernism is an approach that makes the past once more meaningful bymeans of today; one that defends the relativity and diversity of knowledge and cultureinstead of `single?, `universal? values; one that is against all political, social, religiousorganizations. On the other hand, eliminating the conventional distinctions in differentbranches of art, Postmodernism in art sees art as the togetherness (unity) of languageand action taking form intricately in the real life rather than the originality of the artisticproduction. In today?s art these tendencies become integrated in a discourse andintellectual diversity formed by the techniques that the intertwining of the mass mediaand the information technology has created.Accordingly, throughout the research work, the interdisciplinary transition andthe cultural heritage has been achieved sometimes with an approach that wishes to addan intellectual aspect to the time-space relationship and sometimes with the individualwhoturns to seeking his roots in nature and identifies himself as part of it. The basic attitudein the work has been the effort of the individual, who, having increasingly become anobject as a result of technological advances and started to act independently of nature, vihas united with nature again, and looked at it `internally? and entered a nature-bodyrelationship with an instinct to return to his `essence?. However, in some cases the`concept? and `language? relationship as been dealt with in an effort to approachcritically the object?s place in the aesthetic process of the object in an objectified world. Therefore, in a manner against seeing the work of art as an object, some work has beendone to make it meaningful in purely `language? and `thought?.Key words: Postmodernism, action, process, place, time, concept , tongue
