Understanding the prophetic sunnah about of jihad today

This research gives an idea of how to reach a thorough understanding of Jihad and Siyar Hadiths, which can be best attained through a set of practical rules, particularly with regard to Jihad and Siyar Hadiths that relate to international relations with non-Muslims. These hadiths have been misinterpreted and misconceived by a number ofthinkers and critics of religion, by other intellectuals and adherents to other schools of thought, and by authors with radical, heretical, ignorant, fanatical, or extremist approaches. This research is divided into three chapters: Chapter One: it tackles the six rules of interpreting pre-conflict Jihad and Siyar Hadiths. Chapter Two: it tackles the three rules of interpreting post-conflict Jihad and Siyar Hadiths. Chapter Three: it tackles the three rules of interpreting end of fighting Jihad and Siyar Hadiths. The research elaborates on the concepts, inferences, applications, exceptions (if any), and pitfalls of each rule included in the study. It also notes and tackles the most important hadiths that have been misconceived, and the adverse impact that can result from the misconceptions of hadiths and rules. In addition tothe abstract that defines the topic of the research, the introduction to the research highlights its importance and implications on the reader. Finally, the conclusion of the research includes results and recommendations. This research shows that the best method to reach a proper understanding of Jihad and Siyar Hadiths is to come up with a practical methodology comprised of a set of rules, and to understand the Sunnah in light of the established methodology and rules. The improper understanding of Jihad and Siyar Hadiths is due to the absence of this methodology.This research also shows that Muslim scholars have to take action to defend the Prophetic Sunnah, especially Jihad and Siyar Hadiths that have been misinterpreted and misconceived by ignorant anti-İslam thinkers.
