Abstract (EN)
In this study, the word Jâmi', which is used as the name of hadith sources written in the first four centuries of Hijri, is discussed. In the first part of the thesis, the works written under the name of Jâmi' and the works accepted as Jâmi' although their names were not Jâmi' were examined. Name-match compatibility and problems have been identified. In the second part, these sources were subjected to a full content analysis and comparison. The photograph obtained as a result of this analysis shows the differences and similarities of the works with the same name. In the third chapter, the problems of the concept of Jâmi', which is the main subject of the thesis, were determined and a new definition of Jâmi' was made as a solution proposal. Although it is frequently used in the periods of the Mutaqaddimin (Former Scholars) and the Mutaakhkhirin (Following Scholars), it has been observed that there is no definition of "Jâmi'". The first definitions started with the modern period and reached its current position with the definition made by Abdülazîz ed-Dihlevî's work called Ucâle-i nâfia. The most distinctive feature of this definition, which is generally accepted as belonging to Abdülazîz al-Dihlevî, is that of a hadith resource that can be met with the concept of Jâmi' it should contain eight main inscriptions such as âkaid (creed), ahkâm (judgments), rikâk (slaves), eating, drinking, expedition, manners of stand-up and sitting, commentary of Quran, history of Prophet, fiten (strives), menâkıb (anecdotes). With this study, we have shown that this definition is erroneous, and we have made a correct definition of the concept of Jâmi with the definition we have proposed. Our definition has three equivalents: "Genus", "Specy" and "a particular individual".
