Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study is to examine the effect of the emotional intelligence levels of the referees on their decision-making styles. The sample of the research consists of 248 referees in total, 71 women and 177 men, who are active referees and voluntarily participated in the research. To achieve the purpose of the research, the personal information formula created by the research was used. The Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale translated into Turkish by Tatar, Tok, Bender, and Saltukoğlu (2017) was used to determine emotional intelligence levels. The Decision Making Styles Scale developed by Scott and Bruce (1995) and translated into Turkish by Arzu Taşdelen (2002) was used to determine Decision Making Styles. An independent sample t-test was used to test the significance of the paired groups. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to determine whether there was a significant difference between more than two independent variables. Pearson correlation analysis was applied to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence levels and decision-making styles sub-dimensions. In this study, the descriptive scanning method was used. When the findings of this research were examined, a statistically significant difference was observed in the emotional intelligence levels of the referees according to the variable of seniority, classification, and having another profession. In decision-making styles; There was a statistically significant difference according to the variable of marital status, seniority, classification, and having another profession. In addition, it was determined that there were significant relationships between emotional intelligence levels and decision-making styles sub-dimensions.
