The analysis of perceptions public relations and organizational image: A study in terms of the Police Department of Kütahya

It is seen that `the policing approved-supported by the community? approach has recently come into prominence in many countries including Turkey. The problems experienced in the police?s public relations with people have always been; however, the fact that this situation attracts more attention today and it is assessed with democratization stages in public administration has inspired us about this study (Karatepe, 2004: 262).The purpose of this study is firstly to identify people?s perceptions about police-public relations and determine whether these perceptions vary by the demographic characteristics of the participants within the study. Besides, it is also aimed to light at what levels the personnel?s behaviors that can affect intraorganizational and out of organizational public relations are carried out while the security services are maintained in Kütahya Provincial Security Department and how these behaviors affect the service provided by the security staff in terms of police-public relationship from the viewpoint of ?public?, which is one of the parties.The study consists of three sections. The literature review of the study consists of first and second section; explaining public relations, image and organizational image, emphasizing their characteristics and laying out theoretical framework. The third section of the study consists of the findings obtained from suitable statistical techniques and data analysis.Keywords: Public Relations, Image, Organizational Image
