Abstract (EN)

Hamza-names are one of the first examples of Turkish prose, which was written by Hamzavi in the 14th century and started to make its presence felt in Anatolia. These works, which tell about the events shaped around him and his surroundings by taking the center of Hazrat Hamza, have many religious motifs in their content due to the theme of jihad. Aiming to instill feelings of valor, courage, power and justice in its readership, this work was highly respected among the Turks. Hamza-names, which contain Old Anatolian Turkish features in terms of both vocabulary and language features, consists of 72 volumes. The 71st volume of Hamza-nâme has been chosen as the subject of our study because it shows features of Old Anatolian Turkish.
