Geographical principles of traditional viticulture in Hasandede

Hasandede Village is connected to Kırıkkale city center and is located in the Central Anatolia Region-Central Kızılırmak Section. Located on the Ankara Kayseri state highway on the south of the central district of the city, the village covers an area of 31.6 km2. It is 5 km from the town of Keskin and 13 km from the city center of Kırıkkale. Hasandede, located in the southeast of Kırıkkale and east of the Kızılırmak River, is surrounded by Mount Alandağ in the north, Mount Kızıldağ in the east and Behrek Mountain in the south. Its Southwest is covered by very fertile fields, vineyards and orchards covering 15,000 decares. The highest point of the village is 1100 m, the lowest point is 680 m, the height amplitude is 420 m, and the average altitude is 765 m above sea level. Summer is hot and dry, and winter is cold and snowy. The month with the highest temperature is August (38° C), and the lowest temperature values are January (1.2° C).Precipitation increases in spring and winter. The lowest precipitation falls at 6,4mm in summer and the highest precipitation falls at 44,7mm in December and January. The number of frost days does not exceed 10-12 days with the effect of the Kızılırmak River. The population of Hasandede Village is 1017 people according to 2021. 519 of the population is men and 498 of it are women. The entire population is from the Alevi sect. The connection of Hasandede Village with the provinces of Ankara, Kırıkkale, KırĢehir and Kayseri, where there is predominantly economic and cultural interaction, is provided by the Kırıkkkale-Kayseri road passing through the village. Viticulture products are the most important source of livelihood and also wheat, barley, corn, melons, potatoes, sugar beets and various fruits are grown. Ovine breeding is more common than cattle breeding. Hasandede tomb is also important for the recognition and economy of the village. Hasandede Village is known all over our country with its grapes and traditional house wine. In the village, whose population is almost entirely from the Alevi/Bektashi culture, wine production has become traditional, as it has an important place in their culture. In Hasandede, viticulture is at the forefront as the most grown fruit in the volcanic lands that do not cover a large area. Grape is an important source of livelihood in the surrounding villages, especially in Hasande. The product obtained from viticulture is not sold in the markets. Village people sell fresh grapes in the boxes of tractors, on the roadsides and busy streets, especially in Kırıkkale and Ankara. Other products obtained from grapes are used to make wine, molasses, etc., in the lower parts of the houses, since there are no factories and workshops in the village. The village is known throughout Turkey for its Hasandede Beyazı grape and traditional house wine. In this study, it is emphasized how the forgotten, traditional, vineyards and vineyard products that are cultivated by transferring from father to son are produced. 63 people from the village household dealing with vineyard farming were interviewed, literature was searched and traditional grape and wine growing was written by taking natural factors into account.
