حاشية عبد الرحيم محمد أفندي (ت 1062 ه) على ديباجة البيضاوي(دراسةً وتحقيقاً)

This dissertation aimed to study and investigate "Hashiyah of Abd al-Rahim Muhammad Effendi (d. 1062 AH) on al-Baydawi's Dibajah" who is one of the notables of the twelfth century AH. The importance of this footnote comes from the comments it contained on the introduction to Al-Baydawi, and the opinions, quotations and inferences it contained that reflected the diversity of Abd al-Rahim Effendi's culture and his prominent scholarly personality. His entourage includes various sciences, such as the sciences of Arabic, such as grammar, morphology, and rhetoric, and legal sciences: such as jurisprudence and its origins, the science of interpretation and the sciences of the Qur'an. It included doctrinal topics in which he responded to the beliefs of Christians, some philosophers, and others. Two written copies have been relied upon: the first is from the property of the Turkish Wali al-Din Effendi Library, and the second is from the property of the Asaad Effendi Library. The study followed the historical descriptive approach when translating the author and his scientific biography, and the method of investigation and commentary in the edited text. The most important conclusions of this study were as follows: Abd al-Rahim Effendi's approach was distinguished in dealing with linguistic, literary, verbal and jurisprudential issues with accuracy and detail. He also combined in his reasoning between Reason and Revelation So he inferred the honorable hadith on language issues, and explained the strange words in the Qur'an with the Qur'an, which is the highest degree of clarification. His comments varied between abbreviation and elongation, as needed from the author's point of view. Among its most prominent sources is a book by al-Zamakhshari, which he cited in many places, but he was criticized for not investigating the authenticity of the hadeeth. He used to mention the weak ones without referring to it, and yet the footnote is rich in explanation and detail, as evidenced by Abd al-Rahim Effendi with good commentary and mastery in various sciences, as he is a linguist, rhetorician, jurist, speaker, and interpreter.
