Özet (EN)

This study is a methodological study conducted to ensure the Turkish validity and reliability of the Patient Perceptions Scale for Patient Empowering Nursing Behaviors. The study was conducted with 230 patients in Düzce University Health Practice and Research Center who a) were literate and b) were receiving treatment for at least 24 hours in the date range of the study. The data of the study were collected between 01March and 30 April 2024. The Patient Perceptions of Patient Empowering Nurse Behaviors Scale was administered to patients who volunteered to participate in the study. Descriptive statistics of all data in the study were calculated. For the validity of the scale, language validity, content/scope validity and construct validity were examined. Confirmatory Factor Analyses were applied to determine the construct validity of the scale. It was determined that 66.8% of the participants were 65 years and older, 51.3% were male, and 67.7% were married. When the lowest and highest scores obtained from the scale items and the mean scores and standard deviations of the items were examined, it was seen that the lowest score was 2.61±3.41 and the highest score was 4.70±1.17. It was determined that the item total score correlation values were not 0.30 and above and the items with total score correlation values below 0.30 should be excluded from the analysis. It was determined that the factor loading values of all items were above 0.30. According to the Confirmatory Factor Analysis, it was determined that the structural equation model result of the scale was significant at the level of p=0.000 and was related to the 26 items and six-factor scale structure. According to the results of the first level multifactor analysis, the goodness of fit indices of the scale showed acceptable fit with RMSEA 0.066 and excellent fit with χ2 (Cmin/df) 2.007. As a result, it was determined that the construct validity of the scale was achieved. In order to determine the discrimination of the items in the scale, the raw scores obtained from the scale were ranked from highest to lowest and the mean scores of the groups in the lower 27% and upper 27% were compared by independent group t-test. While the alpha value for the overall scale was calculated as 0.902, the alpha value for the factors was calculated between 0.592-0.892. According to the results, the correlation coefficient between the two halves was calculated above 0.70 for the measurement tool. As a result of the test in the study, it was determined that individuals answered the items according to their own opinions when answering the items of the scale, and there was no response bias in the scales (p = 0.000). As a result, it was found that the Patient Perceptions of Empowering Nursing Behaviors Scale is a valid and reliable scale.
