ABSTRACT Hospital information Systems And Application For Dicle University Research Hospital In this study, current hospital information systems have been investigated and by determining related problems, Hospital Information System working at University of Dicle Research Hospital Automation Center and triggers which are written for controlling elements threating system security that is the most important subject for such systems are introduced. Besides, in order to contribute to the researchs and present information about services of university hospital, annual results of some statistics which take part in statistics menu have been presented and interpretted. Trigger is a special type of stored procedure which works when a change is made on entries of a certain table. Triggers help protection of data integrity by preventing operations that are disallowed or that may lead to inconsistency. University of Dicle Research Hospital has an On-Line Real-Time automation system which is concordant to all hardware and software conditions necessary for a real automation project and which can extend strategically. Therefore, reaching necessary information on database has been achieved by writing triggers. Consequently, University of Dicle Research Hospital Information System has been introduced, information about the capacity of university hospital has been presented by statistics taking place in the system and the security of hospital information system programme has been controlled with the help of written triggers.
