Abstract (EN)

With the development of aviation in the commercial and social care in Turkey, some investments were required for the development of airports and airline transportation. It is especially important to develop airport operations in line with these expectations and to make airports more efficient in terms of passengers and cargo. This study was conducted to examine Turkey's two major airports of Antalya and Istanbul Atatürk airports. It is aimed to compare efficiency and productivity of Antalya and Istanbul Ataturk airports before and after privatization and whether the privatization affected productivity. Before and after privatization, performance data of two airports examined for this purpose were analyzed and compared with data envelopment analysis and it was revealed that privatization increased efficiency in airport operation.
