Knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of physicians on traditional and complementary medicine practices

There has been an increase in demand for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (TAT) applications in the world and in our country in the last decade. Along with the opposing opinions among physicians about these practices, the Ministry of Health published the GETAT regulation in 2014 and tried to Deconstruct the practices under legal regulations. Although there are people with different opinions in society, it is known that some people are trying to achieve these practices. In our study, we aimed to examine the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of our physicians working in a training and research hospital about TASTE. In our study, after conducting a literature review, a descriptive and cross-sectional questionnaire was created to identify thoughts about TASTE. In this questionnaire, questions were asked in order to be able to interpret the information, attitudes and behaviors of our physicians about TASTE and attitude questionnaire was added. Our survey was also attended by 163 general practitioners, assistants and specialists working in a training and research hospital. While it has been determined that the general knowledge level of our physicians about taste taking methods is high, it has been determined that their educational status is low. Although their education and application status are low, it has been found that their desire to receive education is high. It has been found that physicians who take scientific studies as a source have a more positive attitude towards taste buds than physicians who use other sources. it has been observed that general practitioners and physicians with 0-5 years of experience have a more positive attitude towards TASTE applications than other physicians. Generally speaking, opinions about TASTE are positive, but physicians have stated that the practices should be supported by more scientific studies and should be applied by trained physicians.
