Abstract (EN)

The purpose of the study is to compare the perception of nursing faculty members and nursing students in public and foundation universities regarding the future of nursing and their use of artificial intelligence in education. In this descriptive and correlational type study, the sample consisted of 90 nursing faculty members and 934 nursing students. The "introductory information form" including sociodemographic and professional characteristics and the "Perception Scale for the Future of Nursing" were used to collect data. The data were analyzed with SPSS version 27. The total mean score of the perception scale for the future of nursing was 106.37±20,00 (Min=31, Max=155) for students and 119.83±15,53 (Min=76, Max=155) for faculty members, and the participants' perception of the future of nursing was positive. It was determined that 86.3% of the students used artificial intelligence, but 83.5% did not receive any training, 77.8% followed current developments, and gave an average score of 2.60±0.8 (out of 5) for the level of knowledge about artificial intelligence. It was determined that 90% of the faculty members used artificial intelligence, 42.2% received training, 77.8% followed current developments, and gave an average score of 2.69±0.77 (out of 5) for the level of knowledge about artificial intelligence. It was determined that there were significant differences between the participants' perception of the future of nursing and their artificial intelligence usage behaviors. The perception of the future of nursing is more positive among first-year students, those studying at foundation universities, those who are satisfied with nursing education, those who follow current developments in artificial intelligence technologies, those who use artificial intelligence technologies very frequently in nursing education, and those who think that artificial intelligence technologies will positively affect the future of nursing and nursing education. The perception of the future of nursing is more positive among faculty members who think that artificial intelligence technologies will positively affect the future of nursing and nursing education. It is thought that the research results will provide a database for studies on the status of artificial intelligence usage in education and the perception of the future of nursing, and will be useful in developing suggestions for the use of artificial intelligence in education.
