Abstract (EN)

The aim of the descriptive and cross-sectional study was to examine the general attitudes of nurses working in a health practice and research center towards artificial intelligence. A total of 276 nurses, 14.1% (n=39) male and 85.9% (n=237) female, working in a university hospital constituted the sample group. The study was conducted between January 1 and March 31, 2024. The data were collected using the "General Attitude Toward Artificial Intelligence Scale" and "Personal Information Form". In the comparison of the data, Student t test was used for two group evaluations of variables with normal distribution, Oneway Anova test was used for comparisons of three groups and above, and Games Howell test was used to determine the group causing the difference. Kruskal Wallis test was used in the comparisons of variables that do not show normal distribution in three groups and above, and Dunn test was used to determine the group causing the difference. The participants' scores from the "Positive Attitude" sub-dimension of the General Attitude Towards Artificial Intelligence Scale ranged between 16 and 60, with an average of 43.74±6.87 points; the scores from the "Negative Attitude" sub-dimension ranged between 8 and 40, with an average of 25.53±5.64 points. The findings show that men according to gender, those who are 29 years old and younger according to age, single people, those who do not have children, those who have been working 10 years or less in the profession, those who have been working less than 1 year in the organization and shift workers exhibit positive attitudes (p<0.05). Positive attitude and negative attitude scores do not show a statistically significant difference according to educational status, health problem, weekly working hours, and unit of employment (p>0.05). The importance of restructuring and changing the content of in-service training by creating an environment that supports innovation and creativity xi for the positive development of attitudes towards artificial intelligence in health services is emphasized.
