Abstract (EN)

The concept of power as it affects the success of every manager in the organization is also important at nursing services management. Manager swith in the organization to be effective, have to be a certain power, and they must be able to manage that power. From this point, in this study nurse managers who are perceived and preferred power types and levels from their managers have been analyzed and the differences between them have been examined on the basis of the dimensions of power. This research has been carried out in order to uncover the types of power and their preferences of nurses' managers that are percieved by nurses. When the obtained results examined on the basis of the dimensions of the perceived power, the highest level of the type of power was reinforcing power in case the lowest one detected as coercive power. However, the reinforcing power and legitimate power have been perceived very smilar levels. When examined on the basis of dimensions, the coercive power which is preferred the lowest level of the type of power while the reinforcing power is the highest one. Perceived power and preferred power levels by nurses have ben compared regarding to the dimensions of power. According to the obtained results, power levels which are preferred by nurses are higher than the perceived power levels and the difference between of them have been determined as significantly far enough from the scientific point. Besides, a strong positive relationship has been determined between reinforcing and legitimate power. In contrast, weak positive relationships have been determined between reinforcing-power with coercive power and coercive power with legitimate power.
