Abstract (EN)
Objectives: The aim of our study to detection of serum total sialic acid level role in the hyperemezis gravidarum, for early diagnosis and precautions.Material and Methods: In this study, compare serum total sialic acid levels in hyperemezis gravidarum pregnants and healthy pregnants. Total sialic acid levels of 30 women with hyperemezis gravidarum whom has no any aditional disease are compared with 30 healthy pregnant women. Two groups were evaluated at the aspect of some biochemical parameters as serum total sialic acid, human chorionic gonadotropin hormone (hCG), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), body mass index (VKİ), fetus crown rump length (CRL), c reactive protein (crp), white blood cell levels (wbc). İstatistical analysises were performed . P value <0.05 was accepted as significant. Results: Hyperemezis gravidarum pregnants? total sialic acid levels are higher than control group and values was statistically significant (p: 0,003). And there were no any significant differences between hCG, TSH, crp, wbc levels between two group. VKI of the disease group was lower than control group (p: 0,007). As gravida increases, hyperemesis clinical signs and symptoms were observed lesser (p: 0,02). Finally, women with hiperemezis gravidarum compared with control group had negatively weak correlation between TSA levels and VKI values (p: 0,040) and between hCG and TSH levels (p: 0,028) .Conclusion: This study is first study in litherature, suggesting sialic acid may play role at the etiopatogenesis of the hypermesis gravidarum. More studies are needed to determine the value of sialic acid at the prediction and treatment of hiperemezis gravidarumKey Words: hyperemezis gravidarum, total sialic acid, human chorionic gonadotropin hormone
