Abstract (EN)
DEMOGRAPHİC CHARACTERİSTİCS, TREATMENTS AND RESPONSES OF PATİENTS FOLLOWED UP WİTH A DİAGNOSİS OF HODGKİN LYMPHOMA; SİNGLE CENTER EXPERİENCE Purpose: Hodkgin lymphoma is a lymphoproliferative disease originating from B cells. In this study, we aimed to examine the demographic characteristics, treatments and survival characteristics of Hodgkin lymphoma patients followed up in our center. Methods: In the study, the information available in the patient registry system of 111 patients who were diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma or followed up in Dicle University Hematology Department between January 01, 2015 and December 30, 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Of the 111 patients included in the study, 46 (41.4%) were female and 65 (58.6%) were male. Eight patients had a family history of hematological malignancy. In our study, the histological subtype frequency of Hodgkin lymphoma patients was nodular sclerosing 34 (30%)6 mixed cellular 31 (27.9%) lymphocyte-poor 24 (21.6%) lymphocyte-rich 17 (15.3%) nodular lymphocyte predominant 5 (% 4.5) was found. In our study, 36.4% of the patients were found to be in the early stage (Stage I-II) and 66.6% as the advanced stage (Stage III-IV) at the time of diagnosis. When the data of 110 patients whose data could be accessed in terms of extranodal involvement were examined, it was observed that 39 patients (35.1%) had extranodal involvement at the time of diagnosis. Post-treatment infertility characteristics of 32 patients of childbearing age were questioned and it was found that infertility developed in 10 (31%) of the patients. In our study, 88.5% of the patients were given ABVD cure in the first-line treatment. The median follow-up period of the patients was 55 months (1-101). During the follow-up of the patients after the first-line treatment, it was observed that 55 patients were not relapsed/refractory and remained in remission. During the follow-up period, relapse/refractory development was observed in 49 patients. It was found that relapse refractory developed more frequently in the patient group with extranodal involvement. During the median follow-up period of 55 months (1-101), 22 of 111 patients died. The mean overall survival of the patients was 83.4 months (95% CI= 76.8-90 months). Autologous SCT was performed in 14 of 44 relapsed/refractory patients who received second-line therapy, while Autologous SCT was not performed in 30 patients. While the mean overall survival of patients who did not undergo autologous SCT was 79.8 (95% CI=70.9-88.7) months, the mean overall survival of patients who underwent autologous SCT was 94.6 (95% CI=82.9-106.3) months. detected. The difference between the two groups was not statistically significant (p=0.409). Conclusion: The long-term toxicities of the disease and the treatment regimens gain importance, since a significant portion of Hodgkin lymphoma patients are of late age and long survival times are achieved with new treatments. In our study, infertility was observed in 31% of the patients of childbearing age. In our study, the demographic characteristics of the patients and the treatment regimens given are similar to the literature.
