Abstract (EN)
Each of the finds uncovered during archaeological excavations is an important part of the past. These findings are examined in their own, typology is determined, recordings are made, and then their relationship with other pieces is investigated and examined with scientific studies and interpretations can be made for their place in social life. In order to do this, art history, archeology, history, anthropology, folklore, interdisciplinary information flow can be used and the social and cultural impact of archeological finds can be emphasized. There are many works of art that enable the continuation of sociocultural values from past to present. Among these works are 'tobacco nozzles". Some important factors also played a role in the emergence of tobacco nozzles. Tobacco seed is one of these factors. Tobacco seeds and plants came from America to Europe and from there to Ottoman lands. Tobacco, the product of this seed, has gradually formed a significant number of users in the world. Thus, with the intensive use of tobacco, tobacco drinking tools have been started to be made by using various materials and techniques. Probably the most preferred and pleasurable of these drinking appliances in time was the nozzles. In the archaeological excavations made with great efforts, many works are brought to our history. One of these works is the tobacco nozzles which are the living witnesses of ethnography. With this master's thesis, we want to make Hosap Kalesi Tobacco Nozzles, which are among the important findings of tobacco smoking, to take their place in the written records with a certain discipline and to protect our archaeological works of this type. Tobacco farming and smoking pipe art, which is one of the building blocks of Ottoman Archeology and industrial history, is an area that needs to be done well for today, but it must be preserved and introduced and transferred to future generations. By publishing this work, we planned to make a start in the name of Hosap Castle tobacco smoking. We believe that as you turn the pages of our thesis and see these finds that shed light on the past as an archaeological heritage that gained our attention, relevance and appreciation with their different typology, you will share the same opinion. Tobacco nozzles, which are the subject of our study and found as a result of the excavation works in Hokoç Castle, are among the important finds. These findings were evaluated according to a certain discipline with the thesis study and were grouped within themselves. In addition, comparisons were made with similar and different features of the towers from other regions, and their place in Ottoman Archeology was tried to be determined.
