Hüseyin Avni Aker (1889-1944)

Hüseyin Avni Aker is a valuable person who lived between 1889-1944. When the historical literature in this date range is examined; It is understood that it was a sad period and that the Turkish nation was experiencing serious troubles. During this period, Hüseyin Avni Aker had his share of a life full of suffering. This thesis is about Hüseyin Avni Aker's life story. The purpose of our preference for this subject; Hüseyin Avni Aker, an idealist teacher who spent many years on the fronts and fought for the independence of the Turkish nation, then led the enlightenment of the Trabzon region in the newly established Republic, informing the people, and later became a pioneer in the development of Trabzon sports in its infancy to today's professional level. His name is not left behind in the back pages of history and his actions are not fotgotten. It would not be wrong to state that today's Trabzon owes its advanced level in sports to Hüseyin Avni Aker and his idealist friends. From 1924 to 1944, the sports management duties in which he actively took part in Trabzon brought his neutral identity to light, and he was the first person to be consulted and whose thoughts were given importance in Trabzon for many years. In particular, he pioneered the construction of modern sports activities in Trabzon during the period of Physical Education Trabzon Regional Vice Presidency he carried out between 1938-1942, he actively ensured that modern sports activities were carried out in Trabzon and enabled Trabzon to come to the fore as a sports city. Hüseyin Avni Aker has struggled and succeeded to make not only the youth but also the people of Trabzon interested and interested in sports. This thesis study we prepared clearly showed that; It would be an incomplete study to discuss the social history of Trabzon without obtaining information about Hüseyin Avni Aker and many unknown and forgotten personalities. This master thesis is an example of fidelity bestowed on the cherished memory of the late Hüseyin Avni Aker.
