Abstract (EN)
This research was conducted in Baghdad City Governorate, Iraq, in the period between April 2022 and September 2022, and urine samples were obtained from 100 males aged between 9-11 years patients admitted to Al-Kadhimiya Hospital in Baghdad . Isolates diagnosis was made based on morphological and cultural characteristics of MacConkey agar, nutrient agar as well as conventional biochemical tests. Depending on these criteria, Klebsiella spp. was more common in urological patients than in UTI only 50 (50%) isolates were obtained from K. pneumoniae. The results showed that all isolates (100%) possessed mrkD gene. The PCR results for the Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates revealed that the mrkD gene was present in too. Among 50 K. pneumoniae isolates were 50 (100%) isolates as biofilm producers. Among biofilm producers, 30 (60%) isolates were strong and 20 (40%) moderate.
