Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted in order to research the effect of learning the 6th grade primary geometric objects mathematics lesson with dynamic mathematics software onto the achievement and attitude of the students. The study took place in 2011-2012 academic (educational) years on 60 students studying at Etimesgut primary school located in Ankara Etimesgut. In the study, pretest ? posttest control group experimental research model was used. One of the 6th grades was determined as experimental group; the other one was decided as control group. There were 30 students in experimental group and 30 students in control group. The lessons were carried out with dynamic mathematics software GeoGebra Beta 5.0 on experimental group and with traditional teaching method on control group. In the study, Mathematics Achievement Test and Mathematics Attitude Scale were used as data collection device. Achievement test was developed by the researcher, attitude scale was available. Achievement test was applied two times before and after application. Attitude scale was applied after application. The data analyzed by the SPSS 15.00 statistic program. At the end of the study, it is indicated that dynamic mathematics software is more effective than the traditional teaching method. Furthermore, dynamic mathematics software GeoGebra 5.0 Beta positive in enhancing students' attitudes toward mathematics have been more effective than the traditional method.
