The degree of accomplishment to süpervision of elementary school süpervisor during supervision

SUMMARY The aim of the research is to reveal the degree of accomplishment to supervision principles of elementary school supervisors during supervision. Besides, to reveal whether teachers', supervisors' views about the level of supervision principles which they must conform, show any differences according to sex, age, education, professional seniority, and the institutions they worked out of the formal education institutions varieties and branch. The universe of the research is formed from the 5759 teachers who are working in the 158 formal elementary schools which are located in the Konak and Buca districts of İzmir metropolis. In the research, it was wished to reach the schools and teachers which 6,7, 8, 9, 10, 11. group supervisors processed in which they are responsible for the supervision process of Konak and Buca districts supervision activities in the education year of 2002-2003; and % 10 of schools which are under the responsibility of every group and % 40 of this schools' teachers who are in the group of illustration area included to illustration. Sacks were set up for the schools under the responsibility of supervision groups and schools were identified by chance. % 40 of teachers who wished to answer the poll that are working in the schools which were included to illustration, were given poll papers. The illustration of the research is 284 teachers who are working in the 16 formal elementary schools which were identified via proportional grouping illustration located in the Konak and Buca districts. "Control Principle Criterion" which was developed by a researcher is used as a data collection tool in the research. Control principle criterion is formed from three parts. First part is formed from general explanations about the poll and second part is formed from personal information's about teachers. Third part is formed from 41 adjudication article that 24 of them are expressed as positive and 17of them are expressed as negative which are evaluating the degree of accomplishment to supervision principles of elementary school supervisors during supervision. VIStatistic analysis of the data that was collected at the end of the research is processed via using a prepared computer software (SPSS). The analysis of data is made by using arithmetical average, standard deviation, "t" test, one-way variance analysis. The findings that are gained at the end of the research can be summarized as: 1. In general, teachers clarified negative opinions about the supervision principles which need to be conformed during supervision process as revealed in the result of the research. 2. Teachers think that supervisors are not behaving democratic to teachers during the supervision process. 3. Teachers explain that they are not participated to decision stage during supervision. 4. Teachers are not participating the supervision planning stage. 5. According to teachers, supervisors are inadequate in the area of communication, cooperation and relationships. 6. While deciding the professional needs of teachers, teacher and supervisor are not making cooperation. 7. Teachers' development is not aimed via supervision. 8. The medium and conditions of schools is not taken into consideration during supervision process. 9. Supervisors are not warning teachers about the new developments on time. 10. The supervision process is not evaluated with participants continuously. 11. Teachers' opinions show meaningful difference from their personal qualifications to their branch according to sub dimension located in the supervision principles that supervisors need to comply with while they are making supervisions but according to their age, seniority, the last school they graduated and the institutions they worked out of the formal education institutions varieties do not have any significant difference. According to these characteristics, groups have similar opinions. VII
