Abstract (EN)
This research aims to study the texts, images/pictures and activities in the Life Sciences (for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grades) and Social Studies (for 4th grade) lessons' textbooks used in the 2021-2022 academic year in terms of values education. The research was conducted via case study technique with the qualitative research method and the data of the research were collected through four textbooks. Content analysis method was used while analysing the data. Accordingly, main values were examined based on the values definitions made by Turkish National Education. The 10 main values aimed to be acquired by the students in the studied textbooks were examined in this research. Visuals or expressions in texts, images/pictures and activities of the values have been determined. The obtained data were coded and categorized. As a result of the research, it was seen that the most repeated values were "Responsibility and self-control" and the least repeated values were "honesty, justice and patience". The results also show that values can be included in the textbooks equally within the scope of class level and learning area.
