Analysis and Evaluation of Suras al-Tahā'a and al-Anbiyā from Imam Muhammad b. Abū al-Qāsim b. Babjūk al-Baqālī al-Harizmī's Tafsir titled "Miftāh al-tanzīl"

Imam al-Baqālī's tafsīr is considered one of the most important tafsīr of the sixth century. The author is one of the leading scholars of this period. His work, Miftāḥ al-tanzīl, is based on explaining the general meanings and is not considered an analytical exegesis. Although he generally gives the general meaning of the verses, he occasionally dwells on the disputed parts and gives detailed explanations. He also paid attention to explaining the Qur'an with the Qur'an and the hadiths of the Prophet (SAW) and the narrations of the sahāba and tābiûn. The work also includes grammatical analysis of the words and concepts in the verses. In this study on al-Baqālī's manuscript Miftāḥ al-tanzīl, firstly, information about the author and his life is given and then the work is introduced by giving details about the content of the work. The author's method of exegesis and the sources he utilized were explained; a complete description of the manuscripts was made and the manuscripts were analyzed. The text of the work has been rewritten in accordance with modern spelling rules, and the verses of the Qur'an have been written in accordance with mushaf spelling. The relevant suras in which the verses appear are given in footnotes, hadiths are analyzed with their sources, and short biographies of important personalities are added. The sources of the quoted texts and opinions have been cited based on the originals, and the difficult-to-understand words in the text have been explained, and a concluding chapter with conclusions and suggestions has been prepared at the end of the study. We hope that this study will contribute to the introduction of the author and his work and to further research on it.
