In the terms of INCOTERMS 2020 from the past to nowadays INCOTERMS

International trade played an important role in the development of the economies of the countries that destroyed by the 1st and 2nd World Wars. Consequently, the need to unify the legal systems regulating commercial relations came to the fore. The publication of İnternational Commercial Terms or INCOTERMS made by the International Chamber of Commerce and their subsequent widespread use played a special role in the unification of international trade. INCOTERMS are used in the sales contract. These terms define the obligations of the parties or the seller and the buyer regarding the delivery, transportation, packaging, insurance and customs clearance of goods. Thus, INCOTERMS is one of the defining criteria of the content of the sales contract. The purpose of INCOTERMS is to make a collection of international terms for the interpretation of the most commonly used trade terms in international trade. This helps to reduce the uncertainty, confusion and legal disputes between seller and buyer caused by different interpretations of trade terms in different countries. This situation significantly increases the role of INCOTERMS in the unification, simplification and development of international trade. Therefore, the Purpose of this research will be to examine the essence, application area and historical development of INCOTERMS on the one hand, and to make a detailed analysis of the INCOTERMS 2020 version on the other hand.
