Abstract (EN)
In this study, influence of induction heating applied to iron sheathed MgB2 wires produced by the powder-in-tube (PIT) technique in an argon flow athmosphere on the physical and superconducting properties of the wires was investigated. Laboratory made induction heater system was calibrated via Fluke Ti300+ thermal camera. When the superconductivity properties of MgB2/Fe wires, which were heat treathed at 900 for 2 minutes with induction heater, were examined, it was observed that the wires had a critical transition temperature of 36.8 K under 0 T magnetic field. It has been concluded that induction heating is an advantageous method in terms of both time and energy efficient when compared to the heat treatments made by the convencional tube furnace.
