Abstract (EN)

Aim: The aim of the study was to assess nurses' caring intentionality, the factors that affect the intentionality, and nurses' perceptions of the Mindful Caring Program Based on Human Caring Theory. Method: The action research research was conducted. A total of nine nurses participated in the study. Graneheim and Lundman's content analysis method was used to analyse the data. The study was reported using the Qualitative Research Reporting Consolidated Criteria as a guide. Results: Four categories, 11 themes, and 24 sub-themes occurred as a result of the research. The themes 'intending situations,' and 'focus point' were found in the category of purposeful actions. In the category of facilitators of intentionality, the themes of 'nurse's authentic presence,' 'helping–trusting–caring relationship,' and 'positive working environment' were identified. The themes of 'boundaries of caring relationship,' 'heavy working conditions,' 'fatigue,' and 'dominance of family members in caring' were discovered in the category of obstacles to intentionality. The themes of 'personal deeping' and 'professional transformation' were present in the category of repercussions the mindful caring education program. Conclusion: It was found in this study that nurses perceived intentionality as performing purposeful action. The nurse's intentionality serves a multitude of reasons, and several factors lead her to the patient. There was a range of factors that facilitate or hinder nurses' caring intentionality. Nurses also stated that the mindful caring education program impacted both their personal and professional life.
