One of the most important thinkers of the twentieth century, Iris Murdoch, her moral philosophy and the notion of good, which is one of the key concepts of Murdoch, are examined in relation to existentialism in this study. In the first part of the study, Irıs Murdoch's life and reflections on the philosophy of the important turning points in her life are investigated briefly. In the second part, the basic principles of existentialism, its implications in the field of moral philosophy, the contributions of Iris Murdoch and her objections to existentialism are discussed concisely. In the third part, how the notion of good is understood in the history of philosophy, the views of philosophers about the notion of good, and finally, Murdoch's notion of good are investigated in this study.
