Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study, which set out to answer the question "Can the perceived motivational climate at work be improved by regulating the workplace intergenerational climate in the context of Turkey?", is to examine the relationships between workplace intergenerational climate and motivational climate at work. In the analysis, the need for relationality, which is claimed to be related to the motivational climate in the literature, and the mediating role of the perception of the leader as relationship-oriented were also tested. The research was carried out with the participation of 552 employees, who are members of generation X, Y and Z. The data obtained from the standardized scales were analyzed through statistical package programs. As a result of the study, it was determined that only the relatedness needs of the participants were related to their generations, Accordingly, as we move from generation X to generation Z, the need for relationality decreases. It has been determined that there is a negative relationship between the workplace intergenerational climate and the performance climate and a positive relationship between the workplace intergenerational climate and the mastery climate. Motivational climate at work was found to be positively related to the sub-dimensions of intergenerational climate, need for relationality and relation-oriented leadership. It has been observed that relationship-oriented leadership has a mediating role in the relationship between workplace intergenerational climate and motivational climate at work. It has been concluded that both relationship-oriented leadership and the relatedness need have a mediating role in the effect of motivational climate at work on intergenerational climate. It has been observed that both the relationship-oriented leadership and the relatedness need play a mediating role in the effect of the mastery climate on the workplace intergenerational climate.
