Abstract (EN)

It is known that there are many reasons that affect language development in children. It is known that hearing loss is one of the main causes of delay in language development. In this study, it was investigated whether there is a significant relationship between the genders of children with hearing loss and their language development. Other student characteristics that had an impact on this study were also examined in the same way. The aim of the research is to increase the language education of the gender where the delay is high, if there is a significant difference between language development and gender. For this purpose, receptive language skills and expressive language skills were evaluated separately with the Turkish Early Language Development Test (TELD-3). A total of 20 children with hearing loss, 10 girls and 10 boys, between the ages of 2 and 7 years and 11 months were included in the study. As a result of the research, although receptive language skills are better than expressive language skills, it is obvious that there is a delay in language development in children with hearing loss, and no significant difference was found between the gender factor and language development.
