Abstract (EN)

The current study was conducted at Tikrit Teaching Hospital during the period from 16-4 to 20-6/2022. The current study included the collection of 200 samples of patients suffering from chronic renal disease (112 males and 88 females), whose ages ranged between 15-84 year. The current study included isolation and identification bacteria that cause bacteremia in hemodialysis patients. The current study showed that 60 (30%) of the total 200 dialysis patients had septicemia, and 140 (70%) were not infected with septicemia. The percentage of infection with Gram-negative bacteria was 31 (51.67%), while the percentage of infection with Gram-positive bacteria was 29 (48.33%). The highest incidence of septicemia was in the age group (55-64) years, and the infection was more prevalent in males compared to females (55% versus 45%). Through the current study, It was shown that Staph, aureus have a severe sensitivity to both the antibiotics azithromycin and imipenem amounted to (77.27%), While the same bacteria showed 100% resistance to the antibiotic amoxicillin and a resistance rate (81,82%) to the antibiotic vancomycin and a resistance rate (77.27%) to B-lactams antibiotics, and a resistance rate (86.36%) to methicillin.
