Abstract (EN)

Aim:Turkey due to take place in the middle of different climates, and is rich in plant species and variety diversity. It is one of the leading countries in the exportation of tea plants and spices worldwide and it is interesting to note that Lamiaceae (Labiatae) family is the first place among the traded species. In addition, Lamiaceae plants, which have an important place in alternative medicine, are an important family for our country. High biological and pharmacological activities of species belonging to this family have been known for years. Therefore, it is aimed to determine the chemical contents and activities of Salvia pseudeuphratica species which will be examined for the first time. Material and Method: In this study, chloroform and ethanol extracts of Salvia pseudeuphratica were prepared and the antioxidant, anticholinesterase, antityrosinase and antiurease enzyme activities were investigated in the light of the chemical profile of the extracts, the secondary metabolites were purified by the use of preparative HPLC and other classical chromatographic methods and the structures were analyzed by spectroscopic methods. After determining the antioxidant activity of the isolated compoundsand anticholinesterase enzyme activities were also determined. In addition, prepared ethanol extracts of leaves, branches, flowers, roots and whole parts of the plant were analysed for quantifying some compounds by LC-MS/MS and petroleum ether extract of the plant were prepared and fatty acid profile of the plant was determined by using GC-MS/MS. Results:As a result, 21 different compounds were obtained from active ethanol extracts prepared from root and aerial parts of Salvia pseudeuphratica. Conclusion:Thus, the chemical contents and the above-mentioned activities of the Salvia pseudeuphratica species examined for the first time the results are brought to the scientific world. Key words:Salvia pseudeuphratica, isolation, antioxidant, enzyme activity, LC-MS / MS, GC-MS / MS. This study was supported by TUBITAK(Project No: 114Z801).
