Works of the Department of Köycülük Communitiy Center İzmir in the domain of public education

People's Houses were active in various fields from February 19, 1932 until 1951. Community Centers, one of the important cultural centers established after the National Struggle, were first established in 14 provincial centers and then spread to the far corners of the country. This cultural center, which has been operating with 9 branches, has touched the lives of both the citizens of the city and the villagers. İzmir Community Center is one of the first 14 Community Centers opened. İzmir Community Center, which is one of these cultural institutions of great importance in terms of public education, operated with 9 branches. Studies have been carried out in order to ensure the integration of villagers and urbanites in İzmir Community Center and district Community Centers, which serve public education with the peasantry branch. At the same time, exemplary villages of the Republic were established by carrying out studies in the fields of economic, social, cultural, health and education. They carried out activities in the villages on issues of importance such as agriculture, animal husbandry, public health, education, and carried out activities in line with the objectives such as increasing the economic welfare of the villagers, raising healthy individuals in the villages, raising their education levels, increasing their cultural activities and improving their living spaces. The purpose of this study; The aim of this study is to evaluate the activities of the Village Department from the establishment of İzmir Community Center to its closure in terms of public education. It examines how the lives of the people in the village are touched, what kind of support is provided, and in which field the work is done. For this purpose, archivedocuments, articles in the press of the period, articles and books were used in Fikirler Magazine.
