Özet (EN)

Cancer development must go through several stages before cells become tumors. As a first step, cells must be capable of uncontrolled proliferation. During the spread of cancer, tumor cells acquire some different characteristics. These features include proliferating independently of exogenous growth-stimulating or growth-negative signals, spreading to adjacent tissues and retaining distant sites, enhancing angiogenesis, avoiding mechanisms regulating cell proliferation such as apoptosis and replicative senescence. Spexin (SPX), a 14 amino acid peptide, is involved in many physiological events related to obesity and energy regulation in animals and adult humans. Tissue studies in humans were found to be overexpressed in human endocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary and other tissues, suggesting that specin may play a role in endocrine, reproductive, cardiovascular, renal physiological functions and some other tissues. Kisspeptin was first identified as a gene and protein responsible for metastasis suppression in humans. The peptide is identified as metastin since it demonstrated the ability to prevent tumor metastasis. A neurotrophic factor with angiogenic qualities that has recently been discovered is called a meteorin-like peptide (Subfatin). This protein belongs to a novel family that does not share any properties with VEGF-A or FGF-2. It has been demonstrated that decreases appetite and body weight in obese mice by neutralizing asprosin in the blood with a monoclonal antibody with higher asprosin concentrations in the circulation of obese people and mice. Patients who undergo treatment at the medical oncology departments of Firat University Faculty of Medicine are included in this study. Participants in the study groups consist of 38 cases (diagnosed with cancer) and 38 healthy volunteers. Analyzes are evaluated in 22 package programs of SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences; SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL). In the study, descriptive data are shown as n and % (percentage) values in categorical data and mean±standard deviation (Mean±SD) values in continuous data. By using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, continuous variables' conformity to the normal distribution is assessed. The Mann-Whitney U-test is employed for non-normally distributed variables and the Student's t-test was used for normally distributed variables in the comparison of paired groups. The statistical significance level in the analysis is assumed to be p<0.05. The mean age of the patients in the patient group is 57.1±15.6 and the mean age of those in the control group is 52.5±13.1, there is no significant difference in age is seen between the groups (p=0.162). The patient group's levels for kisspeptin (p0.001), metrnl (p0.001) and FBN 1 (p0.001) are discovered to be considerably lower than those of the control group. Regarding the Spexin molecule, there is no discernible difference between the groups (p=0.308). It is known that the expression of peptide hormones changes in neoplasia. However, there is no research on how the newly defined serum adipokine levels change with serum levels in gynecological system cancers. The evaluation of recently identified serum adipokine levels in gynecological cancers is the main goal of this research. However, we believe that there is a need for multicenter clinical and experimental studies with more participants in this field in order to add more reliable data to the literature.
