K-12 teachers readiness for blended teaching and teachers' view

The aim of this study is to examine the readiness and opinions of teachers working in K-12 educational environments towards blended teaching. The research is a mixed-typed study. The quantitative data of the study were obtained with the participation of 556 teachers from different genders, ages, experiences and branches working in schools affiliated to the Çankırı Provincial Directorate of National Education, found within basic education and secondary education institutions at K-12 levels. In addition, translation and adaptation of the K-12 Blended Teaching Readiness Survey into Turkish, which is used as a data collection tool, has been carried out in this process. Moreover, in order to deepen the research, 16 teachers who were qualified to provide data diversity were selected from the working group and semi-structured interviews were conducted with these teachers. It was seen that the readiness levels of the participants were higher in male participants according to gender;the readiness levels of those who did a master's degree were higher than those who did not, the readiness levels of teachers whose branch is social-maths and science oriented were higher than art and skill-based, the readiness levels of teachers who had previous experience with blended teaching were higher than those of teachers who did not, and that the readiness levels of those who had previously taken courses/trainings related to blended teaching were higher than those who did not. Furthermore, from the other findings obtained as a result of qualitative data analysis support the gathered results.
